The Rundown: A ghost from Janet’s past has targeted her and her daughter for death.

Years ago an event happened to Janet Van Dyne’s father that changed the course of her life and started her journey to becoming a superhero. Years later, she is a successful businesswoman preparing to launch a new venture with her old friend Jarvis. When she gets a call from her stepdaughter, she flies to meet her not knowing that someone is watching her and waiting to strike.

As the pair talk about Nadia’s past and the disappearance of her grandfather, the pair find themselves in a battle against Whirlwind. A battle that is just the prelude to a bigger plot against Janet. A plot with a personal connection to both heroes named Wasp.

The Story: Ewing delivers an entertaining first issue with a story that has an engaging mystery at the center of it. I love how the story focuses on Janet and is connected to her past. It gives the reader the ability to focus on the character and her journey. I look forward to seeing this story unfold and am excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Nie delivers some beautiful art in the issue. The character designs are great and the visual style and tone of the art is perfect for the character.
