In the wake of the global pandemic, many studios are shifting their upcoming slate of films and Warner Brothers is following suit by changing the release dates for some of their upcoming films including the return of the caped crusader to the big screen.
According to a report in Deadline, Matt Reeves’ The Batman will move to later next year. Originally slated for release June 25, 2021, the film is now scheduled for release in October 2021. According to the report, a quarter of the film has already been shot so the extended release time should allow Reeves to produce a quality experience once filming resumes.
The move will also shift the release dates for two other DC Comics big screen adventures with The Flash moving up a month from July to June 3, 2022. Shazam 2, which was scheduled to be released on April 1, 2022 will now be released later that year on November 4th.
