The Twilight Zone has been a fan favorite series for decades. The anthology series from creator Rod Serling re-defined both science fiction on television as well as adding social commentary and conscience to television fiction.
Warner Brothers is looking to bring back the magic of the Twilight Zone in a new movie from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way production company with the actor serving as Executive Producer alongside his partner Jennifer Davisson Killoran.
Warner Brothers has been developing the project since 2009 and the company has reached out to Christine Lavaf to pen the script for the film. Lavaf made her career in Hollywood as an assistant to the showrunner on the Fox series Fringe as well as writing an episode of the series. She also has credits as a writer’s assistant on both 666 Park Avenue and Falling Skies.
The last time Twilight Zone was brought to the screen was in 1983 from American Werewolf in London director John Landis. The Landis film had four storylines. The new version from Warner Brothers is being reported to have s single story. It will be interesting to see how they cover the expansive world of The Twilight Zone in a single narrative.
