According to Deadline, Warner Brothers has cast actress Lucy Liu in the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The film will see the return of Zachary Levi in the title role and director David F. Sandberg behind the camera taking on directing duties again.
While nothing about the plot of the film has been released, the title would suggest that Shazam and company will face some powerful foes in the film. Helen Mirren has already been cast in the film as Hespera, daughter of the titan Atlas. Lucy Liu has been cast as Hespera’s sister Kalypso.
Lucy Liu is known for her roles in television series like Ally McBeal and Elementary as well as films like Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels and Lucky Number Slevin.
Shazam! Fury of the God is expected to be released June 2, 2023.
