The Rundown: Daredevil has called Thor to New Asgard in order to show him something that could change the tide of the war dramatically in his favor. As he prepares to make a decision that can either help or kill him, the rest of the heroes of Midgard are busy fighting back the forces of Malekith and his alliance.
The forces of Heven make the mistake of thinking they can take Wakanda. Black Panther and the Dora Milaje show them the error of their decision. Punisher and the Light Elves take on the enemy with superior firepower. Spider-Man has some unusual allies helping him and the Agents of Wakanda manage to stop Roxxon and get communications working again. All over the world, Thor makes his presence felt in the fight against Malekith, but the only way he’s going to defeat the Dark Elf is to risk his life to get the answers he needs to save his parents and the nine realms.
Fortunately for Thor, he doesn’t have to do it alone when Jane Foster picks up a new mantle.
The Story: Jason Aaron is bringing the story to its climax as everything is on the line and all of the heroes are being pushed to their limits. I really enjoy how Aaron is writing Thor in this series. He’s made the character more compelling and interesting as well as lifting up the other characters connected to him including and especially Jane. The dialogue is great and the story itself is adding some amazing twists that could change everything about the God of Thunder.
The Art: Russell Dauterman is killing it with the art in this issue. All of the action works and the characters look amazing.
