The director of the hit Disney Plus series WandaVision is about to boldly go where no one has gone before with his next project.
According to Deadline, WandaVision director Matt Shakman has made a deal to direct the next movie in the Star Trek franchise for Paramount and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot. The latest script is written by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet marking the first time female screenwriters have penned a Star Trek film.
Matt Shakman was the executive producer of series like The Great and directed episodes of Fargo and Game of Thrones before helming Marvel’s WandaVision which has been nominated for 23 Emmys. No information about the script or the story have been revealed. The next film is expected to begun production next spring.
