One of the breakout stars of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead has just been cast on a new series on another network.
According to multiple sources, actress Lauren Cohan has joined the cast of the ABC pilot Whiskey Cavalier. The series written by Dave Hemingson who will also executive produce with Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Peter Atencio from Doozer Productions, also stars Scott Foley (Scandal, Felicity).
The series is described as a “high-octane hourlong action dramedy that follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super-agent Will Chase (codename: ‘Whiskey Cavalier’) who, following an emotional breakup, is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca ‘Frankie’ Trowbridge (codename: ‘Fiery Tribune’). Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny, heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.”
Cohan has been cast as Frankie with Foley taking the lead role. So what does this mean for Cohan’s role as Maggie on the AMC series? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cohan does not have a contract for the upcoming season 9 of the series even though her character is still alive. So there are two possibilities; either her character dies on the series or Cohan stays on the show in a reduced role.
