The Rundown: Kate is trapped in the lair of a monster as the creature moves closer to their destiny.
Captured by Collier, Katye is tied up as the man she has been hunting since he tried to kill her begins preparing to physically transform her with the materials he’s found from the creature of the black lagoon. At the same time, the creature itself begins to move closer to the cave as Christiano and the professor watch it approach.
Unfortunately, the cartel members have found their slain leader and begin to approach the cave as well. With all of the separate elements converging on the cave for their own reasons, Kate will have to face the man who almost took her life and the creature that has chosen her.
The Story: Watters and Ram V deliver some great moments in this finale. There is great suspense throughout as all of the story elements come together to ramp up the drama and terror the character is dealing with. There are some great twists and surprises throughout the story and those surprises create a satisfying and engaging conclusion. I really enjoyed this series and can definitely see a path to more adventures in this interesting world.
The Art: Roberts delivers some great art throughout the issue. The visual style is compelling and the look of the creature is memorable.
