The Rundown: Kate’s hunt for the man who tried to kill her will bring her face to face with a powerful local legend.
Kate wakes up in the jungle home of the man she was tracking and discovers that he not connected to Collier but is researching the creature that is the subject of local legends and has been responsible for multiple deaths in the area. Kate believes the deaths are connected to Collier and follows Dr. Thompson into the jungle.
After moving deeper into the jungle searching for the lair of the creature, they discover Collier is alive and has been training the local narcos forces. Training they will need when the creature shows up while Kate deals with the aftermath of her drowning.
The Story: Watters and Ram V continue to craft an interesting and entertaining story in this issue. The story has some great suspense throughout and a wonderful build up to the action. I like the ambiguity of the creature as well and how the story builds the world of this story rather than shoving the dangers of it in my face. I feel like I am discovering this story and its characters and it is refreshing.
The Art: Roberts delivers beautifully detailed and compelling art throughout the issue. The visuals remind me of some of the best horror comics from when I was a kid and I look forward to seeing more with each page and panel.
