The Rundown: Charlotte and Val take another trip through history while Janet and Chang learn how they came to power.
The group finally has the cure for the Sky virus, but they will be betrayed by two of their own who decide that the only way to save the world is to end the threat of America and prevent Charlotte and Daniel from reaching the center of Aurora. When the older Val tells Ace what happened to him and their friends, she decides that the only way to stop their former friends is with a new tool.
At the same time, Charlotte and Val find themselves fighting to escape Zone History after taking a device that will move them through time. A trip that might come to an abrupt end when they are found.
The Story: Snyder and Soule craft an action packed and emotional cliffhanger that is filled with great action, thrills and compelling ideas. I love the pacing of both stories and how they connect with each other. Each side of the group is looking for the truth in some fashion and both are finding just how nebulous it can be. I love how the story brings the reader to the precipice of revelation at the end and ends with the perfect tone.
The Art: Camuncoli and Marcello Grassi continue to craft beautifully detailed and stylish visuals throughout the issue. The visual language of this series continues to be engaging.
