The Rundown: The team explores the Zone of Possibility and Ace will have to come up with something masterful if they’re going to escape.
More of Ace’s past is revealed as his love for all things America leads him to take an item he doesn’t fully understand. As the team makes their way to the Loreville, Ace will discover that he will have to try something different if he is going to create an American masterpiece. As Val pushes him to come from a place of truth, Ace must decide how best to tell the story from his own perspective. As they push their way deeper into the jungle, they find themselves facing an American legend.
After a fierce battle, the team finds themselves in the presence of a team of legends from the deepest American folklore including Paul Bunyan, Annie Oakley and John Henry. The group is taken to more legends and learn more about the history of Zone Possibility. They also learn of the dark legend that started a war that devastated the people of the zone. A dark legend that is still pulling the strings behind the scenes.
The Story: Snyder and Soule craft an entertaining story in this issue. Not only is the action great, but the way Ace’s story is interwoven into the narrative gives the reader an interesting view into the character and possibly how he will weave the masterpiece he needs to in order for them to escape. The plot is well crafted and the action leads to an awesome and unexpected cliffhanger finale that makes me interested in what’s next.
The Art: Camuncoli and Marcello Grassi deliver some powerful imagery throughout the issue with beautiful character moments as well as intense action.
