The Rundown: Peter and MJ have a quiet night on the town with some interesting guests.
Peter and Mary Jane have gotten dressed up to have dinner with Harry Osborn after Harry and Peter discovered each other’s secret identities. At the same time, Ben and Jonah continue to work on their venture while watching the couple’s kids for the evening.
Before they can sit down at their table, Harry introduces them to his very familiar looking wife who proceeds to needle Peter and MJ about the masked man swinging through the city and how the world needs heroes. A sentiment Harry reiterates as Peter continues to struggle with the question of if he wants to be a hero at all.
The Story: Hickman continues to create an interesting and entertaining new story for Peter in this series. I continue to love the story and the world being created in this series. Hickman does a wonderful job of isolating the themes that make Spider-Man so interesting and adding new elements that take the world of the story in new and intriguing directions. I was blown away by the reveal of Harry’s wife and what that means for both Peter and Harry going forward.
The Art: Messina delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. There isn’t any action in the story, but the close-up panels and how they align with the story add some awesome tension visually.
