Nicholas Meyer is a living legend among Star Trek fans. So to find out that he is working on another project in the universe created by Gene Roddenberry got my attention.
The director of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan has been involved in the Star Trek universe for years. He also wrote Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. He is also a writer on the new CBS Access series Star Trek: Discovery. Well it looks like Meyer is involved in another Star Trek project and this one is apparently a mystery.
The only Star Trek related production that isn’t Discovery is the pre-production of the fourth film in the rebooted Star Trek universe, which is rumored to feature Chris Hemsworth’s return as George Kirk. If this isn’t the project in question, then there is the possibility of another Star Trek series or film not featuring the crew of the Enterprise. Meyer himself was coy in an interview with TrekMovie when speaking about the project which only bolstered rumors that he is working on another Star Trek series.
This is definitely a story that I will be following throughout production and I will let you know what I find out.
