The Rundown: Starfire goes after her sister to free her friends, but there are bigger threats coming for the Titans and Earth.
After surviving both a knockdown, drag out fight and an explosion, Starfire finally awakens and discovers that something is wrong with the world. She discovers who is behind it and that her rogue sister has captured her team. After teaming up with an assassin, Starfire infiltrates her sister’s ship to rescue the rest of the Titans, but she doesn’t know about Blackfire’s new champion, Conner.
After Lady Vic frees the rest of the Titans, Red Hood challenges the re-powered Conner and discovers something he always knew about him. Something that Blackfire never expected. As the Titans battle the Tamaranian forces, Blackfire will reveal that she is not the threat the Titans should be worried about.
The Story: I like the twists and turns this story continues to take. Scott does a great job of subverting expectations throughout the story and giving the characters some great moments. I loved the tension between Conner and Jason and how it culminated into a moment I didn’t expect and a resolution that was satisfying. I’m excited to see where this story goes next and what twists Scott has waiting for the reader.
The Art: Jose Luis delivers some awesome visuals throughout the issue. I love the style of the art and how it gives a classic comic book feel to both the characters and action.
