The Rundown: Robin comes to Batwoman’s aide when she mysteriously drop in on him and his friends.
Robin and his companions are having a heartfelt conversation when they are interrupted by the sudden and dramatic arrival of Batwoman. Bernard is quickly ushered away while Tim and Darcy are left to tend to the ailing superhero. After Batwoman’s current state is quickly assessed, the trio head out to find clues to her present situation. Soon they are hailed by a detective battling it out with Chaos monsters and the group head into battle. However, a surprising action leads to deadly consequences.
The Story: There are some very interesting things happening in this narrative. First, I found adding Batwoman into the series final arc surprising as her story can easily overtake Tim’s. However, I found the cliff hanger extremely promising in terms of both characters overall development. And that development is what most intrigues me. The relationship and character building really drives this story. For instance, the conversation regarding Tim’s current lifestyle as well as his inner monologue, was very relatable. Going through a period of self-realization is never easy and it’s not often that friends and loved ones are understanding of the personal process. I’m curious how the events of this issue will influence Tim’s personal decisions in the future and what it effects it might have on his actions regarding Bernard. With only two more episodes left, I look forward to seeing how Fitzmartin wraps up this saga.
The Art: This well-crafted features exciting action scenes that are completely transportive. The attention to detail in both fore and background does much to visually connect the reader.
