The Rundown: A group of Thundercats search for a new home for their people and discover the dangers of Third Earth.

A ship from Thundera crashes into Third Earth because of an attack from an overwhelming enemy with superior forces. A small group of Thundercats led by Lynx-O and Bengali fight to save the dying civilians, but they are overrun by the forces of Captain Shiner. When Bengali goes down, the remaining cats fight to find a way to escape.
Finding some momentary peace, the cats must decide on a leader and how they are going to locate a way to communicate with the others about the dangers of Third Earth. At the same time, Lynx-O has another concern, the Book of Thundera.
The Story: Brisson crafts an exciting, thrilling adventure in this first issue. The events of Thundercats told from the perspective of another crew is a great choice and a fantastic way to introduce the expanded universe of these characters in an interesting and engaging way. As much as I enjoyed the action and adventure of the story, I really enjoyed the teases of a bigger mystery with Shiner and his knowledge of the Thundercats and their previous time on Third Earth.
The Art: Lobasco creates some beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue.
