The Rundown: The twins go on a dark and dangerous adventure.

Wilykit and Wilykat decide to blow off some steam by heading off into Third Earth after a tense conversation with their former playmate turned leader Lion-O. After finding their way further than I’ve traveled, the twins find themselves outside the pyramid that contains Mumm-Ra.

Back at their camp, Tygra wakes up and begins work on something permanent for the Thundercats while the twins find themselves trapped in Mumm-Ra’s layer where they learn some interesting secrets about their new enemy.

The Story: Shalvey crafts a fun and entertaining adventure that has a wonderful dark tone that raises the stakes for the twins. I continue to enjoy the growing danger for the characters and how threats continue to grow around them. There is a wonderful slow burn to the stories in this series and everything from the revelations to the interpersonal conflicts seem to hint at something interesting coming to the Thundercats and the reader.

The Art: Moss delivers some great art throughout the issue. I really enjoy the visual style of this series and how it handles the characters and the action.
