The Rundown: As the Thundercats deal with the aftermath of their latest battle, Lion-O goes looking for a fight.
After a devastating battle, the Thundercats regroup at the ruins of their new base. Tigra takes this moment to reveal his true feelings to Cheetarah and she returns those feelings as well. At the same time, Lion-O is on a personal mission through the deserts of Third Earth with some unwanted company.
As he makes his way to the black pyramid, Lion-O enters alone to confront Mumm-Ra. A confrontation that will showcase that Lion-O is becoming a skilled fighter. Unfortunately, his underestimation of Mumm-Ra and his power might lead to tragedy for the lord of the Thundercats.
The Story: Shalvey delivers a great story filled with action and suspense throughout. Splitting the Thundercats up to explore the different dramas within the team is a great narrative choice. The impetuousness of Lion-O continues to be a good way to add tension to the story and showcase the growing the character still needs to do to become a leader. I like the journey the character is taking and how the story raises the stakes while adding new and intriguing mystery to the story.
The Art: Moss creates some beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the action scenes with Lion-O and the environments beautifully add to the tone of the story.
