The Rundown: Bucky must infiltrate a fancy party to both choke off Red Skull’s money and have a rematch with Wilson Fisk.
After taking out the Red Skull, Bucky and his team know that Skull’s assets are in play and the only place to find out who will get them is at the next Hellfire Club gala. A party Bucky, Natasha and Yelena will infiltrate. When they discover that Wilson Fisk is claiming Skull’s fortune, they move into position to stop the transfer.
Nat uses her new symbiote to move into position while Bucky confronts Fisk directly. The resulting battle will lead to some interesting revelations including the location of where Skull might be trying to emerge again and the rekindling of a relationship.
The Story: I continue to enjoy the dark, gritty nature of this series and this issue does not disappoint. There is a great balance of intrigue and humor throughout the story and the writers do a fantastic job of raising the stakes for the characters while keeping the mystery intriguing and engaging for the reader. I really enjoyed the changes in Natasha and how they inform her interactions with Bucky and Yelena.
The Art: Borges delivers some stunning art in the issue. The character designs are fantastic and the action is visually thrilling throughout.
