The Rundown: Thor rages across a planet and it will take Banner, Odin and Hulk to find a way to stop him.

In the aftermath of a gamma explosion, a raging Gamma Thor proceeds to attack Tony Stark’s new armor and decimate it. With the god of thunder’s rage unchecked, Stark is taken from the planet by Sif in an attempt to keep him safe. Unfortunately, her attempt to use the bifrost to bring Thor back to Asgard leads to tragedy.

At the same time, Odin is still in Banner’s mind and discovers what the force is behind the rage. In order to stop Thor and give Banner back control of Hulk, Odin makes a decision that will give Hulk control over a powerful weapon that will change everything about their conflict.

The Story: Cates delivers some great action throughout the issue. The plot is fun, but there isn’t anything deeper going on within it at this point. I love the scope of the action and adventure, but I’m not getting enough of character motivation for this storyline. Both characters have rich and engaging storylines in their solo titles and as fun as Thor vs Hulk is, I wonder if it’s at all necessary for either character.

The Art: Coccolo delivers some great visuals. The story is steeped in action and thrills and the art brings those to life beautifully.
