The Rundown: Donald Blake has returned and Thor will discover his former host is filled with unchecked power and rage.
After trapping Thor in the Odin created world made for him, Donald Blake proceeds to learn more of the harsh and brutal truth about his creation and the life he was given including the fake memories he can no longer believe. His rage attracts the attention of Sif and the rest of the guardians of Asgard and a fierce battle ensues that Blake wins leaving the Asgardians stranded on another world as he takes control of Asgard.
As Thor discovers the truth about Blake and what happened to him, Blake himself returns to Earth and proceeds to remake himself. After cleaning up and getting what he needs, Donald Blake goes to see an old friend.
The Story: Donny Cates does a brilliant job of making an unassuming character into a dark and foreboding threat. The story is well done and the tension throughout makes each page more surprising than the last. I love the unpredictability of the story and how tense and surprising the ending is. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next and what happens with these questions.
The Art: Nic Klein delivers some blistering action with the art in this issue. Everything looks great and each panel is filled with great details. A great looking issue in both character and action.
