The Rundown: Geralt’s search for Giltine leads him to an unusual encampment.
Geralt finds Giltine in the settlement of a mysterious group. When he tries to take Giltine home, she makes a stunning vow. Later, Geralt is awakened from a prophetic dream by the heads of the settlement who offer him sanctuary. Then, Geralt and Giltine participate in a unusual meeting with several others. This eventually leads to a deadly altercation and a sad revelation. A group leader later shares something that may later be helpful to Geralt’s situation. Finally, Giltine makes the decision to leave the settlement with Geralt.
The Story: I was really surprised by the turn this chapter made. Sztybor gifts us with a narrative that is thoughtful and emotionally complex. Those familiar with mental health therapy will recognize several ideologies intertwined in magic and combat. I am really curious how this plot line will evolve.
The Art: The illustrations in this issue are well done and interesting. The dark color palate fits well with the tone of the story. I found this to be a transportive and eye catching issue.
