The Rundown: Geralt uncovers a shocking secret connected to his latest commission.
Geralt returns Giltine to her father’s home. However, the reunion is interrupted by her mother’s unusual behavior. Afterward’s Agonard invites Geralt to a brothel and assigns his hired man to assist Geralt during his stay. Geralt questions several people regarding the town’s Laima and uncovers something terrible. Later, he returns to Agonard’s residence and discovers an unexpected event.
The Story: Stzybor creates an intriguing narrative that takes a heartbreaking turn. I was left stunned by the episode’s major reveal. However, the catalyst of Laima’s death brings clarity to all of the events in the preceding chapters. Although there was minimal action, the content provided made this story extremely captivating. And the cliff hanger ending left me impatient for more. I am excited to find out what will happen in the final chapter of this saga.
The Art: In this issue, traditional artwork is highlighted by a muted color palette. Del Rey and Bellaire do an amazing job striking the perfect tone for each scene. The eye-catching illustrations perfectly capture the mood changes during the story’s progression. This attention to detail drew me further into the story and kept me completely engaged.
