The Rundown: Geralt discovers the truth about the man he’s working for while Yennifer fights to escape a trap.
Geralt and his elven companion find themselves fighting the leader of the city in order to find the cell that their quarry resides in. After discovering the young man and seeing exactly what has happened to him, Geralt and company have to make a hasty escape with the Witcher trusting in another new companion who has a dark secret.
At the same time, a captured Yennifer manages to escape from her bonds and seeks revenge on Bolius for herself and Geralt, but runs into a problem. On the road back to the land, Geralt finally learns the truth about Bolius and why he wants his son back so badly.
The Story: Bartosz Sztybor crafts a thrilling story filled with suspense and thrills throughout as characters deal with betrayal and the darkness of the truth. There is also great action throughout the issue with both Geralt’s mission to retrieve the son of the man he is working with and Yennifer’s attempt to escape from her captivity. Both parts of the story have a great buildup of tension and thrills that lead to interesting and ominous conclusions.
The Art: Corrado Mastantuono delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visual style is perfect for the action scenes and I love the little details in the characters and the world around them.
