The Rundown: Cross and company are going to get some unexpected help as Skyborough has some unwanted visitors.
With the virus on the surface mutating and growing, no one was expecting Nathan and the mutant-hybrid Regi to crash the city and go on the attack. Nathan is too late to free his friends who have been sent to the surface to feed the virus and keep it away from the city. Nathan gets an idea and goes after his friends in explosive fashion.
At the same time, Kestrel fights to protect the city as the viral creature grows to overtake it. She makes a dramatic stand against the creature as another Sword of God terrorist attack takes place.
Elsewhere, the President has a tough decision to make when information coming to her gets bleaker.
The Story: Jody Leheup delivers another exciting, outrageous and fun story in this issue. As the story gets bigger, Leheup keeps the focus on the characters and allows them to grow, evolve and change as the events around them spin out of control. I especially enjoy how Nathan has evolved from comic relief to a character you care. It’s something even Cross is starting to realize as the situation gets more complicated both personally and professionally. There is a lot of great story going on in this issue and I’m here for what’s next.
The Art: Nathan Fox goes big with every issue, but this one is especially gorgeous. Giant, city attacking monsters, mech-suits, explosions. There is so much to visually savor in this issue.
