The Rundown: Rogue finds herself alone versus Sarah while her army goes after the young mutants being protected by the X-Men.
After facing off against Sarah Gaunt, Rogue is battered and near death alone in the woods. As the monster gets closer, Rogue finds herself in-between worlds with a familiar face who could hold the key to her fate and that of the new mutants who made their way to the X-Men.
At the farm, Gambit, Wolverine, Jubilee and the others find themselves facing off against a monstrous horde of mutants controlled by Sarah. Mutants who want to destroy the kids seeking protection while Rogue discovers some interesting secrets from her new friend as well as Sarah’s dark truth.
The Story: Simone continues to craft an incredibly entertaining, thrilling and engaging story in this issue. The story has great tension, action and a wonderful heart to it supplied by a character that was introduced in the first issue. I continue to enjoy the menace of Sarah and want to see more of her complicated history with Xavier. I also really enjoyed how the tension continues to build throughout this issue and where it leaves the characters at the end.
The Art: Marquez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. From the character designs to the action, everything grabbed my attention visually and wouldn’t let go. A fantastic looking issue.
