The Rundown: Rogue faces the fury of Sarah Gaunt and discovers a dark truth.

Rogue and Nightcrawler go hunting for Logan after receiving a psychic warning from him and find his broken, bloody body deep in the woods. As they prepare to get him to safety, he warns them that Sarah is still there. As Sarah emerges, more of her past is revealed including more about her time with Charles Xavier and the secret she revealed to him.

Back in the present, Rogue has her hands full fighting a creature that is extremely powerful and possibly more powerful than she is. A creature whose mission will prompt an enemy to reach out to Gambit to give him and the X-Men a dire warning of what’s to come.

The Story: Simone continues to create an engaging and brilliantly complicated story in this issue. I am intrigued by the characters, especially Sarah. I loved getting the moments of backstory that both enlighten and intrigue me. Simone has crafted an interesting villain with an even more interesting connection to Charles. I am completely engaged by this storyline and everything within it and cannot wait to see where it goes next.

The Art: Marquez delivers powerful and beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The character designs are amazing and I love the light tone of the backstory and how it progressively joins the darker elements of events in the present.
