Season 1 Episode 6
The Day that Wasn’t
Klaus arrives in the year 1968 and throughout his time in Vietnam as a soldier, he not only finds courage he never thought he could, but he also finds love.
The remaining members of the Academy have a team meeting and Luther lays out the ugly truth of what happened the first time around and how they all died fighting. Luther tries really hard to bury the lead on that one, but the truth adds a new perspective to what they are facing.
Hazel and Cha-Cha heads to an even worse hotel to lick their wounds and when a new message shows up telling them the hit on 5 has been cancelled, the both of them start to question what they are still doing working for the Commission.
5 begins his first full day at the Commission office where he meets the woman who put the hit on him as well as sees the day-to-day functions of the office and how they come to their decisions. Information he will use later to make a pretty bold plan.
Vanya’s anger at not being included in the family meeting forces her budding powers to manifest and Leonard gets even creepier stealing things from the house. Hazel and Cha-Cha have some decisions to make about their future and their partnership, Klaus tries to conjure the dead, Luther realizes that his last few years have been a lie and 5 makes the boldest of statements when he quits and returns with the name of the person responsible for the apocalypse.
Everything is coming to a head and it looks like all of the side stories are converging into something interesting, especially with Vanya and her continued separation from her siblings. Leonard’s role is coming into focus as well and it looks like something is big is brewing that will cause all the family secrets to be revealed for good or ill. This is another incredibly entertaining and engaging episode that powers through a lot of story without losing the heart.
