The Rundown: Iron Lad and a small team go looking for someone that could possibly stand against Banner.
An island in the Pacific becomes the unwitting victim of a gamma explosion. The same explosion that turns Banner into the Hulk. Unfortunately, the people find their island and themselves poisoned by the gamma radiation and it will not be an isolated incident.
Years later, Iron Lad, Thor and Sif travel to the island to possibly recruit the inhabitants and their gamma based powers to fight against Hulk. What they find is the island’s powerful protector and the dark truth about its inhabitants.
The Story: Camp continues to craft an interesting story in this series and a wholly unique take on She-Hulk. There are some compelling and engaging reveals in this issue and I like that the story is not afraid to be complicated in its morality. There are definitely some dark moments in this issue and the story tackles them with an eye towards understanding for the characters. I continue to be invested in the world being created in this series as well as the characters.
The Art: Frigeri delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The art is brilliantly lush and detailed.
