The Rundown: The friends gather to get the full truth about a dark moment in Johnny’s past.
As things continue to get tense between the old childhood friends, Val tells them of a man whose death Johnny was partially responsible for and how that guilt changed him. After the reveal, one of the friends confesses that there was more than one person responsible and reveals his part in the events as well.
As the friends gather to put all the cards on the table, a piece of disturbing news complicates their investigation and a face from the past is revealed to be in possession of something they are all looking for.
The Story: Warren continues to craft some beautifully layered moments in this mystery and I find myself drawn to the characters and this world more and more as things are revealed. The story is wonderfully complex and contains a great mystery that keeps me invested with each reveal. I really loved the twist at the end of the issue and cannot wait to see what it means for the story going forward.
The Art: Mobili perfectly captures the dark tone of the story with the art and every page and panel has brilliantly designed and detailed moments that caught my eye.
