The Rundown: A photographer investigates the death of a superhero who happened to be one of her oldest friends.
John Moore is found dead in an obvious murder scene and one of the people on the scene is an old friend from his past who wants answers. Answers she will seek by paying visits to the rest of their childhood friend group called the Tin Can Society to determine who killed their friend, who also happened to be a superhero vigilante, and if one of them is a suspect.
As Kasia continues to think back on the moments where she and the rest of her friends began to embrace John into their group, she pays a visit to her old friends to see what they know. A visit that will paint a target on her back.
The Story: Warren has crafted an intense and engaging mystery in this first issue. It starts with not only a shocking reveal, but also some great world and character building. From the first few pages, I became immediately invested in the lives of these characters and want to explore their interpersonal conflicts and relationships. I really love the dark tone of this story and look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Mobili delivers some beautifully detailed and intense art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how it matches the intensity of the story.
