The Rundown: Levi fights to stop a monstrous avatar as a bigger threat grows.
Jennifer and Levi continue to bask in the afterglow of their new relationship, but the call of the Swamp Thing will take Levi to Detroit where he teams with Jack Hawksmoor to battle a powerful avatar of industry that has been taking the homeless of the city to fuel itself. At the same time, the being calling itself Trinity makes contact with humanity.
When Levi returns to the Parliament of Trees, he discovers that there is a bigger threat coming. One that the Parliament feels he is not ready to face, but another could be. In the aftermath, Levi is visited by a familiar face baring tidings of war coming from the stars.
The Story: Ram V delivers a story filled with great action, adventure and character. Levi’s journey continues to be compelling and engaging and the conflict between himself and the Parliament makes for some great drama. I love that the story has a great balance between the external conflict and the interpersonal. Both sides are handled brilliantly and even the new characters being introduced are given some compelling side stories.
The Art: Perkins has a wonderful visual eye and style. The art is visually interesting with gorgeous details on every page.
