The Rundown: Levi faces off against his brother as Pilgrim begins the next phase of his plan for Swamp Thing.
As brother faces off against brother with destruction all around them, Levi thinks back on his relationship with Jacob and how this isn’t what his father would want. As the two fight, Jennifer discovers that the man who lured them to his facility has set a trap in order to capture the power of the Swamp Thing. As chemicals rush in to trap and destroy Swamp Thing, Levi uses his power to protect his brother.
In the aftermath, Pilgrim returns to his office after warning Jennifer and begins the next phase of his plan to extract the power of the green. As he heads to his office, it is revealed that the next part of his plan involves a familiar face with a connection to Swamp Thing. At the same time, a message from the green itself will give Levi the time and ability to act to save both himself and another.
The Story: Ram V continues to craft a dark, engaging and compelling story in this issue. What makes it even more interesting as a reader is that it also has heart. It is a very human story at its core and the dialogue is both wonderful and often profound. There are some deeply moving moments throughout the story and its tension continues to keep me invested.
The Art: Perkins delivers some exciting and beautifully crafted imagery on every page of this issue. There are some great visual moments throughout and each page has something that is visually rich and engaging.
