The Rundown: Agent Scumbag and his team go on a new mission, but Ernie is keeping a potentially deadly secret.
Ernie has eased into the world of being a secret agent and all of the perks of the position. Unfortunately, the secret part is becoming a problem as he’s giving interviews, throwing parties and generally brining unwanted attention to the Central Authority. Attention the organization does not want and they send Sister Mary to bring things in line.
After finally managing to wrangle Ernie, the team is presented with their next mission. One that will take them to places none of them has ever seen and Ernie finds inspiration to go on the mission after being introduced to a woman who seems to share many of the traits Agent Scumbag is looking for. Unfortunately, Ernie is still keeping the secret of his connection to Scorpionus and they tell him about their stake in his mission and what they expect.
The Story: Remender continues to keep this series and this issue light and full of humor and social commentary. From his entertaining debauchery to his attitude, Ernie is a character that is compelling for many reasons beyond the surface. The story is entertaining and engaging as you both connect with Ernie as well as feel Sister Mary’s plight trying to keep him in line. I cannot wait to see how this next mission goes for the characters because it is already shaping up to be entertaining.
The Art: Bengal does a great job with the art in the issue. There are some great background details throughout and the imagery has a light, fun quality to it.
