The Rundown: Corinthian’s mission runs into a supernatural snag.
Max finds himself getting closer to the young dead woman he met in the hell club days before. As the two get to know each other, she tries to warn him about his constant presence and how close he is to true darkness. At the same time, Corinthian and the cat that used to be Madison Flynn wait for Max to come home.
When Corinthian gets bored, he decides to leave and search out the club himself while Madison waits for Max to return. After finding his way in, he finds himself tempted by an old adversary of Morpheus’. An adversary who wants him to return to his old ways.
The Story: James Tynion IV does a wonderful job of bringing the reader back into the world of these characters and the story is incredibly engaging. The temptation of Corinthian by Azazel is great and I love seeing him fight against his true nature. The conflict between who he is and what he’s been tasked to do is great drama and I look forward to seeing it play out.
The Art: Delpeche delivers some fantastic visuals throughout the issue. The art does a wonderful job of creating and enhancing atmosphere.
