The Rundown: Pigeon begins a mission of righteous vengeance with the gods as his targets.
In the aftermath of Luna absconding and allowing the tides to destroy vast parts of the land, the lord of Aquatica is worried that his inability to stop the destruction will fuel a lack of faith in his power. At the same time, there is an alarm caused by an attack on his castle.
Aquatica and his forces will discover too late that they are under attack by a magically powered and powerful Pigeon who cuts a swath of destruction throughout the castle in order to get his revenge on the god who allowed his family to die and whose need for power made him a sacrifice for their ambition.
The Story: Remender delivers a powerful story in this issue. Pigeon’s journey has been one of the more engaging and compelling stories in the series and it is coming together in a wonderful way that keeps me invested in this series. There is blistering action throughout the issue and all of the action creates some truly emotional moments for the character and the reader as Pigeon gives voice to the pain and rage he is feeling towards the objects of that rage and their responsibility for it.
The Art: Fiumara delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. The imagery and action are visually breathtaking and filled with glorious and brutal details.
