The Rundown: Princess Soluna finds herself with a group of refugees as things get darker for the gods.
The wife of one of the gods is found dead in the aftermath of an attack and the rage filled deity wants answers. At the same time, Rokos is desperate to find his missing daughter Soluna and decrees that his loyal enforcer Foreman gather a new batch of sacrifices from the local populace to force someone to tell him where she is.
At a refugee camp, Soluna finds herself with a family of familiar faces and befriends the family’s remaining daughter. When Foreman’s men take the girl as a sacrifice, Soluna volunteers to go as well in hopes of saving her new friend.
The Story: Remender continues to create some wonderful drama and thrills throughout this issue. The story continues to take huge leaps while crafting suspense for the characters. I never feel like I am missing out as the story transitions between the main character’s arcs and each story deviation adds color and depth to the whole. I continue to be blown away by this world, this story and these characters.
The Art: Lima Araujo crafts some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visual style captures the dark emotion and suspense of the story perfectly.
