The Rundown: To find out why there are Nazis in San Francisco, Cliff will have to break into Alcatraz to get answers.
In the wake of a Nazi attack on the Golden Gate bridge, Peevy is separated with Debbie’s mom while the ladies find themselves helping people trapped and waiting for emergency services. At the same time, the Rocketeer gets a message telling him that he is the only one that can stop a potential jailbreak from Alcatraz.
As Peevy and Rose look for a way to escape roaming Nazis hunting them down, Debbie and Betty meet with a contact that can get Cliff into the most dangerous place in the country. A mission that will bring him face to face with an old enemy.
The Story: Mooney continues to ramp up the action, thrills and mystery throughout this issue. The story gets more layered and each of the characters is given great moments and agency that enhance Cliff’s story immensely. There is great action throughout the story and the story is evolving in ways that grab and hold my attention. I love the buildup of tension throughout and everything comes together to a great cliffhanger ending.
The Art: Johnson offers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun, bright and exciting with awesome action and thrills.
