The Rundown: Joe and Shelby are on the run and their enemies are growing all around them.
Joe and Shelby have hit the road in the aftermath of their first meeting and confrontation. As they try to get to know each other and discover who and what is coming for Shelby, their generational and philosophical differences get in the way as they hideout in a hotel and Joe learns more about his daughter and the things they have in common.
When Joe decides to leave to summon Shelby’s mother for a meeting, he tries to end his mission and discovers that the demon hunting them is closer than he thought. At the same time, Shelby finds herself facing down a group of murderous humans who are taking the next step before becoming possessed themselves and Joe will need to find a safe place for the two of them, but a betrayal could put them in more danger.
The Story: Seeley ramps up the intensity and tension in this issue and I continue to love the dynamic between the characters. I love seeing how this story evolves and the stakes being introduced within it. The action is fantastic and there are some great comedic elements as well that keep me coming back to this title and wanting to see where it goes next.
The Art: Galan delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. There are awesome visuals and a fantastic style that draws in the reader visually.
