The Rundown: An unknown entity wants to spread love across the world, but its powered people are suspicious.

A strange phenomenon bathes an area of Manchester and Valentina works with Magus to discover what it is. When she arrives, she discovers a powerful being who seems to only want to bring love to the world and as it begins its work, people are convinced that there is heaven on Earth. Unfortunately, that utopia makes the powered people of the world concerned and they meet to discuss it as Valentina is prepared to give into it freely.
In the present, Magus speaks about the encounter as the threat it turned out to be when the prospect of perfection met the reality of expectation. At the same time, Valentina pays a visit to Eliza who forces her to confront her actions during that time before she will meet with her face to face to deliver a dark and ominous message.
The Story: Gillen consistently challenges the reader with a story that is beautiful in its message and almost lyrical in its pacing and execution. I love the subtle passages through time as the characters recount the dark events from their past, the dark actions they took and what those actions mean for what is happening with them in the present. There is a wonderfully solemn and thoughtful tone to this issue and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Wijngaard delivers stunning imagery throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this story and how the art elicits and enhances the emotions of every moment of the story.
