The Rundown: Walter reveals more to Ryan as he gives his friends a choice.
In the aftermath of her actions, Ryan is confused by what just happened. Walter decides to tell her everything about where they are and why they have been brought there. He also includes how the entire experiment is in danger because of his actions. Actions that will come down to a single choice for all of them to make in order to survive.
When the rest of the group arrives, Ryan tells them what Walter revealed. Even in their angry and bewildered state, none of them wants to do what Walter told them is necessary to keep them safe from his people. When they do finally make the decision, Norah alone realizes that it was all part of Walter’s plan. A plan none of them realize will lead to something more dangerous on the horizon.
The Story: Tynion IV infuses this issue with some of the best emotional moments of the series so far. There is some amazing tension throughout the story and I continue to love the evolution of these characters and their circumstances. Everything comes together brilliantly and the story smoothly transitions the reader from reveal to reveal right up to a finale that makes me excited to see what comes next.
The Art: Alvaro Martinez Bueno delivers some stunning visuals throughout the issue. Every page is filled with something to capture the eye and imagination.
