The Rundown: Jace investigates a new foe while the Fox family prepares for a deposition.
Eabha O’Roark has a confrontation with several attackers. Jace follows her and observes her behavior while learning her backstory from an associate. Meanwhile, Tanya Fox makes a request from Commissioner Montoya and Lucious and Luke have a heart to heart. At the CGCP the two newest detectives deal with the implications of their last arrest. And finally, Jace has his deposition.
The Story: Jace’s life changing incident is near disclosure and I couldn’t be more excited. The Fox family has been at odds with each other regarding him since his return, and their internal conflict has been one of my favorite narratives of the series. Jace, himself, is always interesting. I can’t wait to find out more of his current operative mission. As this series deals with multiple stories at once, I would be remiss not to mention my regard for the GCPD story line. The conflict between duty and personal morality is a deep one, and I look forward to seeing which sides the detectives highlighted will take.
The Art: Minimalist drawings highlighted by green and blue palettes are apropos for the issue. Although the action is limited, it is nicely done. The attention to character expression definitely made me feel more involved in the story.
