The Rundown: Duncan and Sam make a desperate assault to find and rescue their daughter, but a secret could destroy the entire mission.

Lucythree has been given a dangerous mission to infiltrate the enemy base and locate Penny. As she makes her way into the depths of the castle and leaves something behind to give her forces the location, she discovers Tash sitting beside the sleeping child and confessing not only his own past, but the deeds he’s done to free his own child. Deeds that will bring him back to his dark alliance with Pigface.

At the same time, Duncan continues to deal with his own inner darkness. A dark secret that he refuses to reveal to his wife even as she sees that something is wrong with him. As he tries to hold back the secret from everyone around him, the forces trying to save Penny attack the castle. Unfortunately, their recent successes might not be enough as Duncan’s secret comes back to haunt him and potentially cost them everything.

The Story: Daniel Warren Johnson crafts a fantastic story in this issue. I continue to love the characters and how deep and emotional the story and the mysteries within it continue to be. The drama keeps bringing me back to this story and I love the relationship between Sam and Duncan and how it’s grown and evolved throughout this arc. I like seeing their complications add to the fabric of their child’s mind and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Johnson and Rossmo deliver fantastic art throughout the issue. From the characters to the emotional beats, every page has something compelling to see.
