The Rundown: Rowena and her housemate begin to grow closer.
Rowena continues to work on the new pieces for her upcoming show and as her work develops, so does her relationship with the entity she shares the house with. After getting over her initial fear, Rowena finds a comfort with the entity that is strange, but surprising. A comfort that allows the two to communicate and spend more time together doing things like watching movies and talking.
While Rowena’s work begins to suffer because of the amount of time she’s spending with the unknown entity, she is opening herself up more and expressing things she never did before. The entity also gives her gifts and their bond only grows, but there is something underneath the surface that has not been revealed and a mystery that has yet to be solved.
The Story: This series and this issue have taken a strange and intriguing journey so far;. A journey I continue to find both interesting and ominous. Rowena’s ability to express herself and be comfortable with the entity is both heartening and concerning considering the circumstances and that adds to the compelling nature of the story. Young has crafted something truly unique and engaging with this series and it will be interesting to see how it evolves and where it goes next.
The Art: Corona has a wonderful skill at using the darkness and shadows to both intrigue and repel the reader. Every page is visually exciting and I found myself going over each panel for details to enhance the story.
