The Rundown: Tony continues his memoirs including a chapter that is relevant to what he will soon face.
With the loss of everything he once valued, Tony gets an idea for the next part of his memoir and proceeds to write about his time with the West Coast Avengers and a mission that would bring him face to face with Emma Frost who is trying to taking something he’s holding for SHIELD. Something that will require Emma to unleash Spider-Man’s mind controlled rogues to take back.
As Tony battles against Doc Ock, Rhino and more, he realizes just how powerful Frost can be. A revelation he keeps in mind when an ally breaks him out of his memories to bring him something that will paint a target on his back and make him a wanted man.
The Story: Duggan delivers an entertaining look back at one of Iron Man’s earlier adventures and I enjoyed seeing Tony go up against not only Emma Frost, but Spider-Man’s rogues as well. The action was intense and fun with some thrilling moments and a great narration throughout. I loved the progression of the story and how it segued into a great reveal at the end that teases some big action to come.
The Art: Andrea Di Vito delivers some great art in the issue. I love the retro look of the story and how it beautifully contrasts with the contemporary story. The imagery is beautifully detailed and the action jumps off the page.
