The Rundown: A monster stalks the southwest and Banner discovers the kindness of strangers comes at a price.

A monster is stalking small camps across the southwest. At the same time, Banner and Charlie make their way to the area and manage to get a ride to a local camp willing to take them in for the night. In town, a man with a dark secret fights to suppress the monstrous impulses growing within him.

As Banner looks for some much-needed rest, Hulk tells him that he cannot have peace. Forced to run from the camp as he changes, Hulk finds himself interrupted in his torment of Banner by a familiar face who is determined to stop the Hulk before he hurts anyone.

The Story: Johnson is crafting a dark and entertaining story that brilliantly leans into the horror elements that have been a part of this arc so far. The darker tone is compelling and beautifully exemplified by the drama between Banner and Hulk. The moments between them are scary enough, but adding the other monster to the mix and the protector makes me excited to see what happens in the next issue.

The Art: Klein delivers some brilliantly detailed and darkly engaging art on every page of this issue. The visuals capture the imagination and draw you into the world of this story and its characters.
