The Rundown: Thor confronts his mother Gaea and discovers who opened the gate that threatens the world.

In a lone mountain, Thor descends from the sky to confront the one person who might have answers about the release of Toranos and the others. Someone who could be the key to understanding what he faces, his mother Gaea.

After discovering her seat of power, he demands answers and discovers that he and his mother are connected to the dark entity that drove Toranos and the others into hiding. He also discovers that his mother has her own plans. Plans that will send Thor to a meeting with Dario Agger.

The Story: Ewing is crafting some compelling and engaging lore throughout this arc and this issue delivers some great moments for the character as well as fantastic suspense and drama. I love the tension throughout this issue and the moral ambiguity of Gaea even towards her own son. There is a wonderous feel to this issue and the ending makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Roberson delivers some fantastic art in the issue. The visuals are wonderfully detailed and filled with great imagery that serves the character perfectly.
