The Kreel siblings land in Germany to confront the demons who have been coming after their souls. Unfortunately, the chauffer at the airport shows them that they are aware that the siblings are there and are willing to roll out the red carpet for them.
As they enter the old church the demons use as their base, they are greeted by a strange priestess who tells them they are welcome. When one of the siblings reveals that they can’t just take their souls, the siblings are invited to stay and one of them is visited by their dead brother who gives her an ominous warning.
The Story: Bunn crafts a consistently engaging and compelling story in this issue. I love the constant state of tension and suspense sustained throughout the story and how Bunn builds on moments that intrigued me as the plot unfolds and reveals more to and about the characters. There is a wonderful terror to the circumstances these characters find themselves in and I cannot wait to see how the story continues to unfold after they realize that they have power than they realize and what their enemies will do because of it.
The Art: Bocardo weaves beautiful imagery throughout the issue. I love the visuals in this issue and there are so many brilliantly detailed and gory moments to enjoy.
