As fans gear up for the release of Zack Snyder’s epic cut of Justice League, Warner Brothers is gearing up to bring the scarlet speedster to the big screen with a solo Flash movie.
Although cameras haven’t rolled on the Andy Muschietti directed DC film, there have already been some changes to the cast with the return of Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and the departure of Billy Crudup as Barry Allen’s father Henry Allen. According to Deadline, a scheduling conflict with the second season of the Apple TV series The Morning Show will prevent Crudup from returning to the Flash movie. No word yet on whether the role will be recast as the film deals with Barry aka The Flash attempting to change the past to release his father from prison for the murder of his mother.
On that note, the film has cast the actress will be playing Barry Allen’s mother. According to Deadline, actress Maribel Verdú will play Barry’s mother Nora in the upcoming film. Verdú is known for roles in films like Y tu mamá también, Pan’s Labyrinth and The Year of Fury.
The screenplay is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). Cameras are set to roll on The Flash this Spring in London.
