The Rundown: Jeannie and Arno have different adventures in the Fade as a dark threat emerges.
Jeannie is still in the Fade and as she tries to find her bearings, she thinks about her friend Arno. Back in the real world, Arno is unable to find his friend and decides to go to and enjoy the party anyway. An experience that gives him the confidence to make a decision in his life as he thinks back to his life and friendship with Jeannie.
Arno decides to perform the ritual himself and enter the Fade only to find himself in a strange location and confronted by an Oracle who gives him a challenge he must face in order to get a prophecy that could help him. A prophecy that will get the attention of a dangerous creature who wants the two of them to return.
The Story: I continue to be a fan of Aabria Iyengar’s world building in this issue as well as the care and time taken to give the reader more insight into the characters, specifically Jeannie and Arno’s friendship. It’s a great way of getting me to care more about them as a reader and it enhances the story on many levels. I find this story engaging, emotional and thrilling as it builds things within it that I want to see explored.
The Art: Mari Costa delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style intensely and how perfectly it captures the tone of the story and the emotion of its characters.
